  • Since 2007, Laura Powell has dedicated her clinical skills to the treatment of orofacial myofunctional, articulation and voice disorders in patients of all ages. She has presented at various events sponsored by dental associations, including the Columbia Dental Society, the Missouri Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Dental Hygiene Study Club, and Missouri Speech-Language-Hearing Association Convention and Voice Symposiums.

    Laura is a graduate of Fontbonne University, where she earned a Master of Science in Communication Disorders. Currently, Laura is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the International Association of Orofacial Myology (IAOM), and the Missouri Speech-Language Hearing Association (MSHA). She also sits on the board of examiners for the IAOM.

    The only certified orofacial myologist in the mid-Missouri area and a founding member of the Missouri State Orofacial Myology Association (MOSOMA), Laura has performed the diagnosis and treatment of orofacial myofunctional disorders, pediatric feeding aversion, noxious oral habits, apraxia, receptive language disorders, expressive language disorders, articulation disorders, pragmatic language disorders, cognitive-communication deficits, aphasia and voice disorders (including paradoxical vocal cord movement disorder).

  • Since 2000, Tami has focused on a variety of pediatric experiences in clinical, home health and school settings. Tami was a feeding mentor for Therapy 2000, pediatric home health, and a member of the Assistive Technology team while working in the schools. She has supervised CFY’s, assistant SLP’s, and graduate students in the field. She has experience working with receptive/expressive language disorders, auditory processing, augmentative communication, articulation, phonological and apraxia speech disorders, fluency, voice, feeding aversions, and dysphagia. Tami has received training in Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Every Move Counts, Core Vocabulary, Food Chaining, and is Certified in Pediatric Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation Therapy (NMES).

    Tami is a Hanen-certified speech pathologist. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University earning her Bachelor and Master of Science in Speech and Language Pathology. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA), is licensed by Missouri State in Speech Language Pathology and a member of Missouri Speech Language Hearing Association (MSHA) along with ASHA.

    Tami moved to the Columbia area with her husband and two children from the Dallas Texas area. She and her family enjoy the outdoors, boating and baseball together.

  • Since 2012, Corey has focused on a variety of pediatric and adult experiences in both the rehabilitation and school settings. Corey was a full-time therapist at Columbia Public Schools where she was one of the lead SLPs in Columbia’s district-wide classrooms. She provided continued education and training in the areas of social functional communication as well as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to teachers and paraprofessionals. She has experience working with fluency disorders, feeding aversions, expressive/receptive communication disorders, articulation/phonological disorders, AAC, cognitive and developmental delays, and apraxia. Corey has received specialized training in Lamp WFL, customization and implementation of AAC, Yoga & Mindfulness interventions, basic sign language, picky/problem eating, and behavior modification through functional communication.

    Corey graduated from the University of Missouri earning her Bachelor of Health Science in Communication Science and Disorders. She completed her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Central Missouri. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA), is licensed by Missouri State in Speech-Language Pathology and a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • Since 2014, Carly Brown has spent her time in a pediatric outpatient clinic and an adult inpatient hospital. In multiple settings, Carly partners with families to create family-centered care plans and treatments. Carly assisted in the development of a Pediatric Constraint Induced Movement Therapy Program and has received training in neuromuscular stimulation, behavior management, the promotion of self care skills and independence in older children, and is a certified YogaKids teacher.

    Carly graduated from the University of Missouri with her Bachelor and Master of Occupational Therapy. She is licensed by the State of Missouri in Occupational Therapy and is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

    Carly spent much of her life in Cleveland, Ohio and Fort Worth, Texas before finding her way to Missouri. Since moving to Columbia, she’s become involved in the community and enjoys spending her time running, being outside, and at the local art house cinema.

  • Brian attended the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1984 -1989. He moved to California after college and worked in the clothing manufacturing industry for twenty years. In 2008, he decided to come back to his home and family in Columbia.

    He joins Therapy Unlimited with experience in a variety of office environments and looks forward to applying his skills to help make the office function smoothly. He enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with his family and friends.

  • Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). She has specialized in pediatrics since the start of her career and is passionate about building relationships with the children and families she serves to ultimately make a difference in their daily lives. Kelci strives to provide families with the education, coaching, and support they need to help their child be successful in his or her daily environment. Kelci has experience working with a variety of populations including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Developmental Delay, and various neurodevelopmental disorders.

    Kelci has specialized training in working with children with Sensory Processing Disorder. She completed the Advanced Level I Mentorship in evaluating and treating children with Sensory Processing Disorder in April of 2017 at the STAR Center. Kelci has completed further training in remediating handwriting and fine motor skills, development of social emotional and self regulation skills, and interventions to target food aversions. After graduating, Kelci worked in an outpatient clinic where she focused on evaluating and treating children with sensory processing disorder and other neurodevelopmental disorders. In 2019, she joined the team at Therapy Unlimited. She is excited to provide family centered services to improve the daily lives of the children and families. Outside of the clinic, Kelci enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exercising, and traveling!

  • Chelsie graduated from Kansas State University with degrees of Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. After graduating, Chelsie worked for three years with a contract company in the Kansas City area working in school settings with children ranging from 3-18 years of age. She and her husband, Craig, moved to Columbia in 2010 where Chelsie worked for the Jefferson City Public Schools for a year, and then moved to Columbia Public Schools Early Childhood Special Education for three years. After having her first child, Chelsie decided to stay home with her son for 7 years. In that time, she had her second son who began receiving therapy services through the First Steps program. In the Fall of 2020, Chelsie began working at the Tree House, small group therapy for children ages 2-5. In her free time, Chelsie enjoys reading, cooking new recipes, and traveling with her family.

    Chelsie is licensed by Missouri State in Speech-Language Pathology and is a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • Hannah earned both her Bachelor of Health Science in Communication Science and Disorders as well as her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Missouri. Hannah acquired clinical experience during her graduate career working with individuals of all ages in inpatient as well as outpatient settings and within schools. Hannah has had the privilege of gaining experience working with individuals requiring speech-language therapy due to expressive/receptive language disorders, cognitive-linguistic disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, voice disorders, fluency disorders, as well as individuals with cognitive and developmental delays. Additionally, she has experience working with individuals with childhood apraxia of speech, autism spectrum disorders, Parkinson’s disease, and traumatic brain injuries.

    Hannah will hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by Missouri State in Speech-Language Pathology. She is a member of ASHA as well as Missouri Speech Language Hearing Association (MSHA).

    Hannah is a Columbia native and a Missouri Tiger through and through. She currently resides in Jefferson City with her husband, Austin, and enjoys spending her free time with her extended family.

  • Peggy is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist Assistant. She received her Bachelor's degree from Stephens College in 2017. Since a young age Peggy has always had a passion to help people. In 2019 Peggy returned to school at the University of Missouri to complete undergraduate coursework to qualify her as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant. Peggy has previously worked in a preschool setting at the Robert G Combs Language Preschool.

    Peggy is a Columbia native. She enjoys spending time out in the community supporting local businesses or hiking on the trails with her two golden doodles, Chief and Gloria.

  • Kenna is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (CF-SLP) in the state of Missouri. She graduated from The University of Iowa in 2020 earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences and is a current graduate student at The University of Missouri working towards her Master of Health Science Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. Kenna has acquired clinical experience in her graduate program working with individuals of all ages in various clinical settings such as clinics, schools, and early intervention. She has experience working with expressive/receptive language disorders, cognitive-linguistic disorders, articulation disorders, phonological processing disorders, voice disorders, fluency disorders, as well as working with individuals with cognitive and developmental delays. Additionally, she has experience working with individuals with childhood apraxia of speech, autism spectrum disorder, and Parkinson’s disease.

    Kenna graduated with her Master's Degree in May 2022 and holds her license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the state of Missouri. She is currently a member of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

    Kenna is originally from Iowa but has begun to plant roots here in Columbia, Missouri. She enjoys spending time with her friends, exercising, traveling, and taking frequent trips to Target.

  • Rachel earned her Associates of Applied Science Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from Missouri Health Professions Consortium and her Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Missouri. Rachel has clinical experience in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She has worked with Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Reflex Integration, Interoception deficits and many other disorders and deficit areas. She is passionate about providing client-centered care that equips the individual and their family with education, support, and strategies that empower them to be independent.

    Rachel is licensed by the State of Missouri as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, and is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

    Rachel is a Columbia native and has a strong dedication to serving the local community. She has volunteered over the years with organizations such as Woodhaven, Services for Independent Living, and City of Refuge. Most recently, she worked to provide job skills training to individuals with disabilities at Love Coffee. When Rachel is not at the clinic, she can be found going on walks with her dog, writing music at her piano, or sipping a chai latte at a local coffee shop.

  • Rebecca earned both her Bachelor of Health Science in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences as well as her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Missouri. Rebecca acquired clinical experience during her graduate career working with individuals of all ages in various clinical settings such as clinics, schools, and inpatient and outpatient hospitals. Rebecca has had the privilege of gaining experience working with individuals requiring speech-language therapy due to expressive/receptive language disorders, cognitive-linguistic disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, voice disorders, fluency disorders, feeding/swallowing disorders, as well as individuals with cognitive and developmental delays. Additionally, she has experience working with individuals with speech generating devices, autism spectrum disorders, and head and neck cancer.

    Rebecca is licensed by the Missouri State in Speech-Language Pathology. She is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as Missouri Speech Language Hearing Association (MSHA). Rebecca is originally from St. Louis but currently lives in Columbia, Missouri. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and scoping out new coffee shops.

  • Anna Dare graduated from Truman State University with her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders in 2019 and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology in 2021. Anna has experience in the school and private practice setting in the areas of receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation, childhood apraxia of speech, phonological processing disorders, autism spectrum disorder, early intervention, developmental delays.

    Anna is licensed by Missouri State as a Speech-Language Pathologist. She grew up in the St. Louis area, but she currently lives with her husband in Columbia. Anna enjoys spending time with her family and friends, hiking, traveling, and the occasional stop for ice cream. She is very excited to be on the Therapy Unlimited team.

    Ceres’ clinical experiences are spread across the lifespan, ranging from early intervention of speech and language development to geriatric treatment of cognitive-communication and swallowing disorders. Ceres has spent the last three years of her career in the outpatient hospital setting where she was able to evaluate and treat a variety of populations and diagnoses including: speech sound disorders, apraxia of speech, language delay, fluency disorders, stroke-related impairments (aphasia, dysarthria, cognitive-communication impairment) dysphagia, neurodegenerative disorders (dementia, multiple sclerosis, parkinson’s, etc.) voice disorders, and aerodigestive disorders (including vocal cord dysfunction and chronic cough).

    Ceres is certified in Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) for the treatment of adults with swallowing impairment. She is also a specialty trained SPEAK OUT!® Provider for individuals with Parkinson’s Disease.

    Ceres is proud to serve the individuals and families of Columbia and surrounding communities. When not in the clinic, Ceres can be found frequenting local coffee shops, strolling Target, traveling to her hometown of Palmyra, and pretending to be a professional organizer.
